Have you ever dreamed of ruling a country? In fact, there are many people in the world who own their own territory. Some countries even cover an area of about a house. And the only one citizen is the King himself. These micronations have their own history. But the unbelievable thing is that some of these countries can survive from those disasters. They create their own currency and passport. They are announced legal in the world and became comparatively free countries. Now I will list the most interesting ones to you.
Sealand
In 1960, a British people and his family built their own country in Sealand. They occupied a large number of properties and establish the country Sealand. In 1970, some Sealand citizens came and take over this Sealand. They establish armed forces and defeat the those war prisoners. Till now, Sealand is still the focal point of international news. But there still exists disputes about the identity of the country.
Molossia
Molossia is located on a small island within Nevada State in United States. It is established in 1970 with a population of 4. However it is an independent country near America. Theoretically, this country has its own constitution. Practically, a political unrest triggered the panic of the King and thus enacted Martial Law. In Molossia, incandescent lamp, katfish and tobacco are all illegal things. It is also the host of the first Olympic games for micronations.
Redonda
Columbus advocated building Redonda in 1493. Since then, there existed a country on this uninhabited rock. Apart from cliffs, there are only one squared mile of land left. The only animal here is wild goat. But the most abundant natural resource here is the waste of birds. Recently, an English hotel attempts to send a ambassador to depose their smoking bans. But they rejected this.
These countries are very lucky to survive. There are still some countries that do not have this kind of luck, such as Leicester Hemingway, Minerva, Atlanteum. They are either destroyed or unconfirmed.
